After the huge success of the last three editions of the Women in Government Conclave, Femme First Foundation organised the fourth edition in Guwahati, Assam. It was the first time ever that such a conclave happened in the NorthEast region
This edition of Women In Government was held from 7th-8th March, at Cotton University, Guwahati, consisting of panel discussions and talks. The broad topics covered were being women in politics, women in the North East, women in governance etc.
The Women in Government conclave began with our Founder, Ms. Angellica Aribam talking about her journey and sharing the inspiration behind Femme First Foundation. A political leader and student activist from North East, she shares how her personal experiences became the motivation for her to provide a platform, amplifying political leadership among women in India.
At the Women In Government Conclave, Guest of Honour: Ms.Archana Varma IAS, Principal Secretary, Govt of Assam spoke about the need to have women as leaders to break mental barriers which women as a community have internalised within themselves.
Inaugural Event
The inaugural ceremony of the Women in Government Conclave in Guwahati saw began with our Founder Angellica Aribam talking about the organisation, the motivations behind its foundation, journey and what it strives to achieve through various programmes and events of Femme First Foundation. The guest of honour of the event was Ms.Archana Varma IAS, Principal Secretary, Govt of Assam and the special guest was Prof Diganta Das, Registrar, Cotton University.
The inaugural event was followed by an award ceremony to recognise women's effort in Governance, felicitating some prominent women leaders in Assam.
One of the awardees, Dr. M.S Lakshmipriya, Deputy Commissioner, Bongaigoan talked about the challenges faced by women in administration, the dual burned of domestic and professional responsibilities. Expressing gratitude for the women in the her, she highlighted how 'women uplift other women'.
